CANBERRA REGIONAL COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS

In order to provide recognition and incentive to Australian country music performers, engineers and arrangers, the Canberra Country Music Festival organises the annual Canberra Regional Country Music Awards. Covering both recorded songs and live performances these awards are very much about the songs that are the heart of Country Music.

The awards are divided into three categories. The Competitive Peer Awards section are exclusively for performers based or originally born or raised in the Australian Capital Territory, Illawarra, South Coast, Monaro, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes and Riverina. Songs released earlier than 1 October 2009 are ineligible, that is eligibility covers 1 October 2009 to 30 September 2010. The People’s Choice Awards section are for live performances at the Canberra Country Music Festival in November each year and based presentation and audience appeal

Judges for Competitive Peer Awards section of the 2010 Canberra Regional Country Music Awards are from the media, events, recording and other music industry sectors. The Judges results are combined for an aggregated score ranking and are final.
